The California Worship Center, a church founded by music producer Warryn Campbell and his wife, gospel singer Erica Campbell, opened earlier this year and has moved locations due to the rapid growth in congregation numbers. The day the church opened, there were so many in attendance that they increased the services to two the following week.
Two weeks ago, Warryn posted a flyer on his Instagram that stated, “We are experiencing supernatural growth. Both spiritually and numerically.”
“God truly has His hand on call… We are preparing to move into yet another facility to accommodate the growth,” the post said in regards to the Garland Street location.
As of May 24, worship will take place within the James Madison Middle School, situated on 13000 Hart Street in North Hollywood, CA. The more recent church flyer stated that services will begin at 11 a.m. It also read in bold letters, “Here we grow again!”
“Warryn is real serious about ministry and wants to make sure that, above all, it is God-centered,” Erica, one-half of the gospel super-group, Mary Mary, said on “The Yolanda Adams Morning Show.” “We kind of take the approach of [reaching] the broken, wounded people who have kind of been jaded by church and don’t want to go no more.”
A place for their house of worship proves to be one of the main challenges of The California Worship Center, but the Campbells aren’t discouraged.
“He’ll give us the grace to do it, the timing and the space, and all that kind of stuff,” Erica also said when she appeared on Adams’ show. “We’ll come to it. I dare not say no.”
In the “about us” section of the church website, it says, “We are called to Inspire Love and Ignite Good. You will see the power of God’s love in all that we do, which drives us further to do good in ministry, in our homes, in our communities and neighborhoods, in businesses, in schools, and most of all, in individual lives.”
On May 21, Warryn Campbell posted an Instagram photo of the church flyer that announced the new location of The California Worship Center. Along with the photo, he posted, “Our God is Faithful!!!… This time we promise that [there] is a seat for you!!! Please join us!!!”
The church has its own Instagram page that can be followed by using its shortened name, “Caliworship.” The 6-month-old account already has 6,295 followers.
