Let’s face it – there are all sorts of people who attend church. Because no one is perfect, people flock to church in order to get some divine direction with what to do in life. Not only can people receive divine direction through the preached Word, they can receive comfort in the time of sorrow through songs ministered throughout the service. Can we be honest and say there are many ways to hear God’s voice?
Even though those in the church are called to be spiritual and in a real sense, above reproach, the truth of the matter is that people bring their issues to church. Some even like to stir up trouble while in the house of God. Wait a minute – these same people don’t need to do it within the four walls of the church, they can do it outside of the church.
Did you know that Gospel artist James Hall has filed a lawsuit against Pentecostal Bishop Jeffrey Thomas?
According to a story published in theGrio, “Hall said that when he helped Pentecostal Bishop Jeffrey Thomas through an illness, it was simply an act of Christ-like love, but the bishop became romantically interested in Hall, pursuing him relentlessly and even flying into jealous rages when Hall drew the interests of other men and women.”
The lawsuit was filed in the Manhattan Supreme Court. It’s alleged that when Hall rejected Thomas’ s*xual advances that Thomas went into a rage on social media bashing Hall’s name and reputation.
“There is not justification for this conduct,” Hall said in the lawsuit. “There is no justification for this conduct. Mr. Thomas has never expressed any purpose to his actions other than some imagined relationship he believes he has with me, and is nothing more than a disgruntled fan.”
Hall is seeking $15 million dollars in damages.
