Jeffrey Dale Williams of the Church of Corinth isn’t the kind of pastor that you would believe to represent the spirit of Jesus, God or anything like it. The pastor was arrested and placed in jail under suspicion of seeking an “attempted s-xual performance of a child.”
The man is being accused of trying to get a teen girl to strip for him, according to Dallas-Ft. Worth’s WFAA. Even worse is that the pastor’s attempt to seduce the young girl is caught on a two hour video, giving police plenty of evidence with which to make their case.
“He tried to entice her to take her clothes off so he could see her naked body,” said Corinth Police Captain Greg Wilkerson.
Police were contacted by a social worker three days after the tape was made, leading to their rapid response to the situation. The victim’s name has not been released, since she is a minor.
Church of Corinth spokesperson David Fink issued a statement on the matter.
“We have no knowledge of nor any reason to suspect any inappropriate behavior,” Fink said. “We intend to and will fully investigate the allegations, and we will fully cooperate with the authorities. Our prayers go out to this family of our church.”
“There may be an additional victim out there,” Captain Wilkerson said. “We’re trying to contact her now.”
Its not clear how police gained control of the tape, but what is definitely clear is that this so-called “man of God” is in serious trouble.
