Anyone who follows gospel music knows about the brilliance of Yolanda Adams. But there is always more behind the story than some might suspect, and this is true for Yolanda as well. So, here are a few things that you may not know about Yolanda.
1) Adam has sold 4.5 million albums in the US , and nearly eight million world-wide since she started in 1991.
2) In 2009, Adams was named as Billboard’s #1 Gospel Artist of the Decade.
3) Adams is the oldest of six children, raised in Houston Texas.
4) Yolanda wasn’t always a singer. She started her career as a schoolteacher and part-time model.
5) Thomas Whitfield and Sound of Gospel Records discovered Adams when she sang with the Southeast Inspirational Choir in the Church of God in Christ. After getting her big break in the recording industry, Yolanda began singing full-time.
Adams now is the host of one of the most popular radio shows in the country, with millions of fans nation-wide. She has had a great career with numerous achievements, and appears to have many more great moments to come.
