5 of the Strongest Men In the Bible That Every Modern-Man Should Model

by Brian Skyz

The Bible has a varied collection of heroes. These heroes are masters in given fields in which they performed astoundingly and consequently became the icons to be emulated by generations that came after them, and even to date, certain bible characters are still revered for their strength in different aspects.

Here are the 5 strongest men in the bible:

1. Abraham

Abraham is known all over the world as ‘The Father of Faith’. He is mostly remembered for this at the instant when he was willing to sacrifice his only son, Isaac, whom he had begotten at old age to God. Imagine that! God asked him to give back Isaac and he does not hesitate. However, God intervenes just on time to stop him from killing his son. This was a sign of great faith in God.

2. Moses

Moses was born at the time when the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt. Fortunately, Moses survived a death decree on Israelites’ first male sons in a dramatic twist of events that sees him raised by Pharaoh’s daughter herself! Moses grew up as a prince at the palace but never for once did he forget his true identity. In the end, Moses emerged as a hero as he helped free the Israelites from their misery. Through thick and thin he dragged them out of bondage. All this was due to his trust in the Lord.

3. Job

The bible tells of no man who suffered a greater ordeal than Job. Initially, a very wealthy man with many children but out of the blue, calamity strikes and Job loses everything he ever possessed — his children and wealth. To add insult to injury, Job is attacked with an illness that leaves him with painful sores all over. Despite all these travesties, Job does not lose his trust in God. In the ultimate end, God blesses Job once again, ten times more than before due to his persistence in prayer.

4. David

David killed a giant, Goliath, using a mere sling and a stone. He rose and became the second King and the greatest King of Israel who ever lived. David evaded many snares of death planned by Saul and eventually his prophesied kingship came to pass and he lead with great wisdom. Undoubtedly a true legend.

5. Jesus

Well, a few may seek pleasure in debating on this but let’s come to accept and understand fact for what it is. Jesus came to earth as a mere human being. He was prone to temptations just like any human. There is no greater a man than Jesus the son of God, who came to earth to die for our sins and save mankind. Despite the many obstacles and oppositions that came His way, He did not relent but ensured He fulfilled the predictions of the ancient prophets. He had the choice of staying up in heaven but instead chose to come down to earth to reconcile us to God.
