Grammy Award-winning singer Anita Baker has gone through a lot, but she probably never saw this one coming. Anita Baker finally spoke publicly about the warrant issued for her arrest in the city of Detroit. The bench warrant was issued in response to a lawsuit that had been filed against her for $15,000 in work that had been done on her behalf.
Baker says that she was in the kitchen watching television when she saw that the warrant had been issued. Baker immediately went her to 290,000 followers on Twitter to discuss the developments and her surprise at the situation.
‘WHATTT??!!… sittin’ in the kitchen watching this on TV. BIG time crazy. Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy,’ she tweeted.
The attorney for the plaintiffs, Jamaal Hammood, says that he doesn’t want to send Baker to jail, he just wants her to repay the money that she owes. Right now, Baker is in debt to the Ray A. Smith Painting & Decorating company for the work that was done.
