According to 68-year-old Calvinistic Baptist preacher and author, John Stephen Piper, oral s*x between married couples could be a good stimulating experience for both partners and there is no explicit command against the practice of it in the Bible.
In the 400th broadcast of his radio podcast on desiringGod.org, the founder and teacher tackles this delicate subject that is so confusing to married couples and single Christians alike.
The former Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis for 33 years believes that single people who think having oral s*x is a way of obeying Scripture by not having intercourse before marriage are deceiving themselves. He adds that this kind of act between couples is more intimate than copulation, because even married couples are not sure if they are allowed to practice this and be Biblically faithful.
The only way to look at the problem is Biblically and morally states Piper. He adds that if the Bible commands us not to do it, or if it is unnatural, unhealthy or hurtful, then it would be wrong to practice this kind of intimacy.
Scripturally speaking, there is no specific command that forbids us from practicing oral intimacy, although some believe it to be an act of filth and debauchery, according to Piper.
Piper compares performing oral s*x with the idea that a man should not desire his wife’s breasts. He adds that although the breast is designed to feed children, the Bible tells us, in Proverbs 5:19, that they should fill her husband with delight. He continues that the Song of Solomon 7:7-8 states that a woman’s breasts are like clusters of fruit on a palm tree, which the man would climb to lay hold of.
As for oral intimacy being unhealthy or harmful, Piper believes that if the couple is caring how they go about it and careful to make sure there is no risk of catching disease, then that point is covered.
Finally, Piper tackles the question of oral stimulation being unkind or hurtful. He adds that if you force your partner to perform or take part in these acts against their wishes, they you are being unkind and committing sin.
Piper continues that although the Bible states in 1 Corinthians 7:4 that the husband has authority over the woman’s body and the wife over the man’s, with regards to intimate contact, they should respect the wishes of each other.
