Reports have it that Corey “Coco Brother” Condrey is currently at the Atlanta Medical Center in ICU. The radio personality reported got involved in a head on collision. Some reports, although not confirmed, have indicated that the accident severed Condrey’s legs and rendered him unresponsive.
Sources close to the radio star told Obnoxious Media that the near fatal accident left Condrey badly injured, although no specific details were shared.
The radio star went back to radio about two years ago and since then nothing much has been heard of his personal life. It’s mostly been about his noble works.
His wife, Joann Rosario did a social media post, in which she said: “Today, I could have been a widow. Today, my children could have been fatherless… but God in His Infinite wisdom, protection and grace spared my husband’s life during a terrible car accident yesterday afternoon. As they cut open the car to pull him out of the wreckage, with injuries and incredible pain he kept saying ‘God help me! It’s not my time to go! There is too much work to do and souls to be saved, more souls give me more souls!’”
She added, “I am thankful to still be a wife, thankful that my children have [their] father no this side of heaven. We will press on and we will #FinishStrong in Jesus name.”
Rev. Lee responded to the news of Condrey’s accident, saying, “Wow…Saints Please Pray…First us and Now Corey Condrey? A Truck hit him and was in emergency surgery when his wife made this Periscope. What in the world is going on? But he sounds strong and we stand in agreement with our Brother and Sister…”
CoCo Brother, born Cory Condrey, went back into Atlanta radio with a gospel show that aired from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. That was after he’d earlier left his “The Spirit of Hip Hop” show and a session on Praise 102.5 in 2013.
Condrey is respected for initiating Faith Farm in Douglasville, a program that used farming to strengthen people spiritually. His wife on the other hand started Rainfire Church.
Condrey was focused on maintaining strong control of his programs when he made up his mind to go back into radio, so he decided to start his own radio company (Radio Condrey) from scratch. And rightly so, it’s through that company that he runs his current radio show.
Talking about why he delayed in returning back to radio, he said, “If it was me, I would have returned to radio a year ago or more. But I’ve learned in life that it’s not about my timing, it’s God’s timing.”
