Gospel Artist Says Being Gay May Be A “Natural” Thing

By Nigel Boys

In an interview with Sister 2 Sister magazine, Tye Tribbett, award winning songwriter, record producer, music director and singer, said that he believes that being gay may be a “natural” thing. He added, however, that he did not think that God would approve of homosεxuality, because, according to Scripture, it is forbidden.

The 38-year-old singer went on to say that there are many things that people think are a natural and normal thing to do, but it doesn’t mean that God would agree with their decision. He added that lying comes natural to most of us at some point in our lives, but the Bible clearly states that it is a sin against the commandments of the Lord.

The Camden, New Jersey, native continued that most things that we do wrong, seem to come naturally to us, like lying and cheating on one’s wife, because that is in our sinful nature and nobody taught us how to do these things.

In a previous online video in 2008, Tribbett had said that we do these things that are contrary to what the Bible teaches us to do because it comes natural to us and we feel like doing them. He adds that he calls these natural inclinations “doctrine of feelings,” where we do whatever seems right in our own eyes but that doesn’t make it right in God’s eyes.

The only way to avoid these sinful lusts of the flesh, according to Tribbett, is to take the advice in Galatians 5:16 and walk in the spirit and not the flesh. He adds, however, that even if you walk in the spirit, you will still feel the lusts of the flesh, but you won’t go through with committing those sins.

The award winning singer went on to say that a Christian must be joined together with other Christians in order to avoid the sins of the flesh. He added that if you are yoked together with an unbeliever, then don’t be surprised if you follow them and your own lustful ways into sinning against the Almighty.

“We’re in the image of God, so if you function in homosexuality, that’s not who you are. You’re yoked to another spirit. You’re agreeing with something else,” said Tribbett. He continued that God tells us “Don’t agree with lust, agree with Me and let’s get this job done, let’s get this kingdom work done.”
