In another demonstration of just how low the Islamic terrorist organization Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) will go in order to get people to convert to the Muslim faith, four teenagers in Iraq were beheaded, according to Canon Andrew White.
In a CBN News video, the 50-year-old vicar of St. George’s Church, Baghdad, who has been named the “Vicar of Baghdad,” tearfully recalls the slaying of the four young boys who were all under the age of 15.
White describes how ISIS terrorists confronted the four children and told them that they must convert to Islam and follow their prophet Muhammad on the penalty of death if they refused. He continues that the four brave young souls told the barbaric group that they could not do that because they loved Yasua (Jesus) and had always followed Him.
White, who was ordered to leave Iraq for his own safety by the Archbishop of Canterbury, said that the militants again demanded that the children said the words to convert to Islam, but when they refused, they chopped off their heads.
Around 250,000 Christians in Iraq have been displaced by ISIS in the north of the country and only around 1,500,000 strong Christians remain among the population, according to White.
In the CBN video, White said “Things were bad in Baghdad, there were bombs and shootings and our people were being killed, so many of our people fled back to Nineveh, their traditional home. It was safer, but then one day, ISIS – Islamic State.” He continued, “They came in and they hounded all of them out. They killed huge numbers, they chopped their children in half, they chopped their heads off, and they moved north and it was so terrible what happened.”
White further recalls the story of one young adult male who was forced to say the words of conversion by terrorist members or they would kill all his family and children if he did not. He adds that although the man said the words to save his family, he later called White and asked him if that would mean that Jesus didn’t love him anymore.
The young man was comforted when White told him that Jesus would understand his situation, He still loves him and always would.
Canon Andrew has survived many ordeals during his time in Iraq, including being hijacked, kidnapped, held at gunpoint, and beaten. Up to eleven of his staff has been killed by Islamic militants in one year.
