When you serve the Almighty with all your heart and find favor in His eyes, you’re sure to find favor before men as well. In a time when the Christian faith has been criticized because of her leadership, that has chosen to keep silent in the face of a supremacy struggle, Bishop Joseph Walker III is being honored.
The prominent pastor in Nashville, Tennessee, is going to be honored by the faithful citizens of Tennessee for his contributions for the good of the society. Bishop Walker, who’s the international presiding bishop of Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, is about to be honored by having the overpass bridge found on Jefferson Street after him.
At this time when America needs some good news, something that brings about a ray of hope, this dedication and naming of the overpass bridge after a church leader comes in handy. It shows the important role the church needs to play in changing the detrimental direction the country is taking.
The Tennessee state has found positivity from Walker, enabling them to focus on celebrating him rather than the heartbreaking events that have clouded the nation. The impact he’s made on their lives puts him in a position to call for peace and forgiveness so that there can be a starting point towards the healing of this country.
The state plans to show their appreciation for the great impact the Bishop has had on them. The bridge overpass, which is to be named after him, is at the heart of the area he worked the most. They will be holding the dedication ceremony at the Jefferson street bridge. With great joy, the church has invited people from the state to join in honoring Walker with gratitude, with the event set for August 26.
It’ll be good to have him give direction to his fellow Church leaders on matters of the state. In his speech – if he will be giving one- it’d be good to hear him encourage the church to help in healing the nation rather than taking sides and breaking it further. If the political leaders have failed to take up the duty, it’s right for the church to step in and lead people back to unity.
So, even as we congratulate Bishop Walker III, it’s only right to request that he takes it upon himself to encourage those who love and appreciate him to promote unity in America.
