Ohio Pastor And His Family In Trouble For Allegedly Robbing Sunday School Teacher

By Victor Ochieng

An Ohio pastor and his family have been accused of staging an armed robbery against a Sunday school teacher this past weekend, reports the Associated Press.

Anthony Morris, 49, of Toledo’s St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, his wife, Zelda Morris, 46, and their daughter Kamali Morris, 19, are facing felony charges for reportedly robbing Nickema Turner.

According to Turner’s account, she was at the church with her daughter when the daughter of the pastor came and grabbed her by her hair. Then the mother, Zelda, allegedly punches her right in the face before pouring out the contents of her purse and stealing her stun gun, iPhone, and prescription bottles.

Toledo Blade reported that Turner’s iPhone has been recovered.

Turner called the police to report the incident. In a 911 recorded conversation, Turner can be heard explaining to the police what transpired during the said attack, accusing Anthony of drawing a gun and threatening her.

The police report states that Zelda addressed Turner’s daughter, telling her, “You wanna know why this happened? It happened because your mom slept with my husband.”

The pastor and family then fled the scene.

After Turner reported the incident, the police arrested Anthony and Zelda and the couple was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, which basically means the pastor and his wife are facing a first-degree felony charge. Reports further revealed that their daughter is also facing similar charges, although, at the time of going to press, she’d not been nabbed by the authorities.

Turner was injured and was treated at the church.

After the news of the incident spread online, many people commented saying there must be something beyond what’s been shared. There must have been something more serious that Turner did to the family to see them act the way they did, considering they’re people who’re known to her.

Could it be something to do with the accusation that Turner slept with the pastor? If that’s true, how could the pastor be involved in physically attacking her?

“Sounds to me like there is more than meets the eye,” said Chris Daniels on The Old Black Church blog. “Wonder if her cell had info they didn’t want the world to see.”

Then another asked a very straightforward question: “So if your husband slept with another woman, why not blame the husband also? Why not just leave him instead of committing a serious felony?”
