When life gives you lemons, you should…well…you know what to do. Apparently, OJ Simpson is turning to Christ to get through his tough times in prison as of late. It is being reported by the UK Daily Mail that during his time of incarceration, the Juice didn’t just turn the other cheek on his white supremacist cellmate. Instead, he converted him to Christ.
This is the foundation for Simpson asking that he receive a TV show when he gets out of jail. The 66-year old feels that his five years in prison has given him a chance to become a better man and he wants to share this with the world. The show he plans to host is called “Holy Safari,” and he’s got people talking about it.
Simpson says that he spends his time reading the bible, the Quran and other religious texts. He also gives advice to his fellow inmates.
“He’s always been religious inside of the prison,” said his friend, Norma Pardo. “He helps people who can’t find their way.”
Pardo says that Simpson didn’t just turn to the bible when he got to prison, he’d always had a religious foundation.
“Most people just think of him as a murderer because they don’t know the other side,” Pardo said.
Pardo says that the show will follow Simpson around the world as he explores various religious ideologies.
“There’s a lot of religious people who are behind this,” he said. “They say, ‘hey feel if OJ found the lord, it’s important.’”
Pardo and Simpson are hopeful that OJ can be released before Christmas so he can begin work on his new show.
